Pearl Academy of Fashion has close networking with various national and international organizations / universities / institutes, which provides ample opportunities for student, faculty, and information exchanges, as well as for participation in international projects and events. The world of fashion education is a global one, with seamless boundaries. We have strong academic connections internationally. As a result we are able to synergize our strengths with those of our associates to provide a truly world class education.

The Academy also encourages a global exposure for its students through exchange programmes with leading institutions in the UK, Netherlands and Germany. Students graduating from the academy can opt for study courses abroad for which counseling and facilitation are provided.

The Academy has attained national and international repute as an industry oriented, state-of-the-art educator. It is the first fashion institute in India to be certified under ISO-9001:2000. The certification authenticates the implementation of prevailing global standards and continuous improvement mechanisms in the Academy.

Nottingham Trent University, UK
One of the top 10 institutions in the world of fashion education, NTU has been validating all our B.A. (Hons.) courses. NTU has been our closest partner since 1995.

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is among the top-ranking UK universities. It has over 26,000 students, a fifth of whom are from overseas. It offers graduate and post-graduate programmes of learning with scope for a range of qualifications across 11 disciplinary areas. In UK, it is acknowledged for its industry orientation, employability of its graduates and post-graduates and is reputed for its research outputs and contributions.

NTU is also well-known in the UK for collaborative partnerships for educational delivery; it is partnered with a significant number of other UK colleges, as well as with overseas institutions in 8 countries.

NTU- PAF partnership dates back to 1995 under which PAF is designated as a delegated centre by the University having institutional approval to deliver BA (Hons.) Degree Programme leading to its awards at all PAF centers. NTU's Centers for Academic Standards and Quality (CASQ) oversee programmes through nominated verifiers and external examiners under the quality assurance frame work.

NTU's collaborative partnership with Pearl Academy was highly commended and identified as a model case for a range of attributes such as industry linkages, institutional growth and staff development by UK's highest independent Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).

LDT Nagold, Germany
This is the only institution in Europe specializing exclusively in retail education and training. LDT is set up by a consortium comprising of some of the most prominent retail organizations in the world. Pearl has a regular student and faculty exchange scheme with LDT.

Institutional Associations
 
INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTES (IFFTI)
This exclusive body, of which PAF has been a member since 1998, consists of over 40 highly reputed fashion schools in the world. Indeed, the global secretariat of the foundation is hosted by the Academy. Each year Pearl faculty members present papers at the IFFTI Conference. In 2008 in the conference at Melbourne, PAF was the single largest contributor with three papers by its faculty. PAF has been recently elected to the high powered Executive Committee of IFFTI, (the only Fashion Technology Institute from India).

DelPHE


Under the UK Government's Department for International Development (DFID) scheme DelPHE (Development Partnerships in Higher Education), Pearl Academy of Fashion, in partnership with the School of Design, Northumbria University ,UK and Dastkar, (India's leading NGO in the crafts sector,) has received a 3-year project grant for undertaking research-based interventions in select craft clusters in India. The project involves participation of students and faculty of the two institutions along with the staff of Dastkar to plan and execute design and business changes in the crafts clusters, as well as changes in curricula of design and fashion education.

NISTI
The North India Section of the Textile Institute (NISTI regd.) is a subsidiary of the Textile Institute, Manchester, which is an international professional association spanning every sector and occupation in the supply chain relating to fibres and their uses. NISTI conducts varied activities for the professional development of members. Biennially, NISTI organizes international conferences. The conferences held in 2004 and 2006 with organizational support of PAF were on themes "Innovations in the Textile Industry" and "Natural Fibers". The2008 conference, organized jointly with PAF, was on the theme "Sustainability in the Textile Fashion Industry Chain: Crop to Shop". Currently, Dr AKG Nair, Group Director (PAF) and Dr V Shanbhag, Advisor - Academics (PAF), who are both Fellows of the Textile Institute, hold office of NISTI (regd.) as Chairman-cum-Treasurer and Hony. Secretary, respectively.

DEFRA
The Centre for Sustainable Fashion (CSF) at London College of Fashion, U.K. is developing the DEFRA project with Pearl Academy of Fashion under the UK: India Sustainable Development Dialogue (SDD). Pearl in partnership with DEFRA (UK Department for the Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs) is developing the project for "Promoting Indian Sustainable Textiles" with an aim to address the sustainability impacts of the textile industry in India caused by pattern of UK consumption.

HONG KONG RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOR TEXTILES AND APPAREL, HK
This creates access to research funding for the Academy, as well as the privilege of receiving research applications and solutions engineered by other members.

FICCI- HIGHER EDUCATION NETWORK, NEW DELHI
A platform representing, by and large, the interests of private educational institutions, the Academy enjoys a reputed position in its decision making committees and enjoys wide networking potential therein.

SOCIETY OF DYERS & COLOURISTS (SDC)
PAF has entered into an understanding with the Society of Dyers and Colorists for future cooperation, organizing workshops/seminars and student / faculty exchange. SDC is the only international professional society specializing in color in all its manifestations. It was founded in 1884, and was granted a Royal Charter of Incorporation in 1963. The SDC is a registered charity and it aims to develop understanding of color and how color is applied in the industry.
